Buddhist site at Jaulian , Taxila

Jaulian

Location : Some 7 km north-east of the Taxila Museum.

 Period:   It was founded by the Bactrian Greeks on the usual rectangular grid pattern in the 2nd century BC.

 Type of Structure: Ancient Buddhist monastery and stupas 

Present Condition :  

(i)                 Extensive exploration and excavation required on the site.

(ii)               Need of promotional and tourism plan.

(iii)             Restoration work needed.

(iv)             Preservation processes are to be initiated
